Junior Diving Courses

The Junior Open Water course is exactly the same as the standard Open Water Course but with certain depth restriction in the open water section of training.

You must be at least ten years old to receive a Junior Open Water Diver Certification. Ten and 11 year old Junior Open Water Divers must dive with a certified parent, guardian or PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet. 12 to 14 year olds must dive with a certified adult.

At age 15, the Junior certification upgrades to a regular Open Water Diver certification. Juniors (under 15's) may also take part in many of the Advanced and Speciality Courses details of which are given in the individual course outlines.

Junior Open Water Referrals

A popular method of training is the Junior Open Water Referral course. Again. this is exactly the same as the adult course where the four qualifying dives can be done at a different location either on trips with Divemaster Scuba or at one of thousands of PADI Dive Centres located worldwide.
